Where we come from

Sulati Tutor and Therapy Centre was established in 2018. The Centre is situated in the beautiful area of Eldoraigne, Centurion. When one has spent so many years educating learners with individual learning needs, it becomes your mission to want to create a place of learning where every child’s uniqueness; Autism, ADHD, ADD, remedial, as well as social and emotional challenges could be embraced and supported with respect, love, patience, kindness, gentleness, compassion and understanding. It is our privilege to take care of your child’s educational needs for this vitally important Foundation and Intermediate Educational phase.

What we offer

Our centre follows the IMPAQ CAPS-aligned curriculum to ensure that every learner receives individual attention and support. Our classes are small, accommodating no more than 10 to 12 learners. Our Qualified and enthusiastic teachers/tutors create an environment where every learner can enjoy learning and is encouraged and motivated to reach his/her full potential.

Her principal Elaine, has been very understanding towards her needs and is always willing to solve problems where needed. Her teachers are empathetic and strict at the same time. They have patience and try encourage the children as much as they can. Bullying is not tolerated, and is quickly looked at. The relevant child is disciplined. There are always fun activities arranged for special days in the year. The centre itself is well organized and the decorations in the centre are so pretty and encouraging. Good evening, I just want to take this opportunity to thank the Principal and all the teachers for supporting me and my son with their dedication to make a difference in children with special needs’ future. And a special thanks to the Principal Elaine, Vigi, and Teacher Matthew, you are really doing a great job.

Before my son joined Sulati tutorial centre, he went to many different schools. Two of those schools were special schools and unfortunately, he was not coping there as well. Sometimes it was even a struggle for him to enter the school gate because he was also not happy. He missed so much in his educational program before he joined the centre.

When my son joined the centre a year ago, I told myself that if they cannot handle him in the centre, then I’m no longer going to look for any other school but home-schooling him. The way they have been communicating with me regarding my son’s challenges, it was different from previous experiences. I’m grateful for the way they school communicated with me and doctors. And the way they are transparent with their processes. The arrangements made when I was facing some financial challenges to pay the doctor. The way they show so much love to the children is amazing.

I would also to appreciate like their daily report on what was happening during the day. There’s so much that I’m grateful for the centre and the staff. All I can say is that May the Lord bless them.

Our son loves his centre! Sulati has been very kind, compassionate and patient with my son. No matter the challenges we have faced over the years, they have never given up trying. We are so blessed to have found such an amazing tutor centre for our son. While many schools claim to be “Autism friendly”, Sulati really is! It makes the world of difference when you work with people who understand Autism and know that not every child learns the same and that every child is unique and different in their learning. They are always willing to chat, learn, adapt and are available to discuss concerns and come up with ways to make things better for our boy.

My kind het gestraal in Sulati en jy weet dit net wanneer jy weens omstandighede by ‘n ander skool aanklop. Julle het sulke wonderlike werk gedoen. Julle is seker die grootste ‘blessing’ wat met my kind kon gebeur het. Die swaarkry wat my kind nou ondervind laat my net weer waardeer wat ons in Situla gehad het. Moving to Sulati was the best decision ever. Your foundation in building her confidence and bringing out the best in her, had led to this moment. My child was named the Junior Head Prefect for 2020 in her new school in the Cape.

My child was in a mainstream school and was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia middle of his grade 3 year. All the years prior to this was a struggle. He ended up with depression in grade 3. I visited Sulati as I realised that my child needs a school with smaller classes. Sulati opened their arms and he found a home for his senior phase. The classes are small so his attention could be kept. The pressure was not as high as in the mainstream school and daily communication with teachers. We worked as a team, myself and the education team. He also found his love for soccer at Sulati.

What we do and what we offer

We offer Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Reading program (Computerized program), Robotics, Edublox, PhyzzEd Sport (Gross motor activities), and Junior Jive (Music and movement). Our professional experienced team members are passionate about providing the necessary and highest quality of care and education to each individual child.

Being a strong reader influences all other areas of learning. Our reading program provides the necessary input needed to develop and strengthen reading skills. Our learners visit our local library to expose them further to the joy of books and to advance their interest and love of reading. We allow interesting educational visits to the centre to treat our children with interactive learning experiences. Where possible, we take our learners on excursions.

We introduce at least one big event every year when our learners have the opportunity to express their talent and exhibit their creations or enjoy the activities with siblings, family, and friends. Colour runs, art evenings, and music evenings are a few examples. Furthermore, we provide additional classes after hours between 15h00 to 16h00 for Mathematics and Languages.
